Fish conditions are generally classified as bacterial, environmental and parasitic. Microorganisms can be found everywhere in the tank. However, the situation occurs when a Betta fish is moved.

Beta are much more susceptible to infections and therefore less resistant. This leads to a radical change in their well-being and well-being, which can lead to disappearance once they are thrown away.

Environmental situations indicate the environment, no matter where a Betta fish lives. By properly caring for and cleaning the aquarium, fungi and microorganisms are kept away from a Betta fish.

Types of disturbances:

The organisms are small animals and Odinium is one of the best-known parasites causing disease in Bettas. In addition, insects can eventually produce a sick Betta fish. Ichthyophthirius multifilis is also a form of parasitic disease that affects Betta fish.

Subsequently, they are specific to Betta Fish situations that fall into the three types mentioned above.

Syndicated ammonia (NH3)

It is an ecological disease known as ammonia poisoning. This occurs because of the following facets:

1.An unhygienic contemporary pitcher

2. Many fish characteristics in the same pot

3. Frequent modification of H2O

4. Filtration problems

The indicators are as follows:

1. Fish fight for air

2. Stay at the bottom of the bottle.

3. gill bleeding

4. The red lines on the fins.

5. Weakness repaired more

6. No consumption of food

To get a balanced Betta fish, you have to be careful. If this is not taken into account, poisoning can damage and break fish tissue, resulting in scratches throughout the body. In the long run, the head nervous program and the head would cause additional damage and death.

Flexibacter Columnaris

This can be a bacterial disease, which in addition to Columnaris also called oral infection, Flexibater, cotton mouth. Usually there are more live fish with Betta in catfish.

The indicators are as follows:

1. Fish that often produce impure water

2. Low hunger without nutritional value

3 stress

4. White spots throughout the human anatomy.

5 rotten fins

6. Mushrooms in the affected area

Viruses invade the fish through the lips, injured areas, bruises and gills. It is a communicative disease that leads to death. Viruses multiply considerably. The disease progresses rapidly with an exemplary heat of H2O. In addition to reducing heat, it is not just a solution to cope with this disease.

Oodinium pilularis

This may be a parasitic disease, also referred to as infection by silver or velvet caries. Odinia are organisms that are able to secrete the entire Betta fish population in a container.

The indicators are as follows:

1. Fish rub against objects

2 slowly

3. faster and frequent connection movement

4 weight loss

5. More closed fins compressed

List of Most Common Betta Fish Diseases

The diseases and diseases of Betta fish can be classified as fungal, parasitic or bacterial diseases. Most fungal infections are the result of previous health problems. Parasitic diseases are the most contagious and can be brought by new fish in the aquarium. The most common causes of bacterial diseases are low quality water and inappropriate methods for handling fish.

1. Betta's tumors

Betta tumors are usually cancerous clots, growths or smaller bumps / cysts under the skin of the fish. They mainly affect the reproductive organs, gills, tail and abdomen and are caused by genetic mutations and viral infections.

Tumors can be controlled by feeding the fish with healthy foods, taking care of a clean reservoir, treating other infections and eliminating carcinogens from the reservoir.

In terms of treatment, malignant tumors may be difficult to treat, but some simple surgical procedures may be useful. Tumors and benign cysts can be treated in different ways, depending on the cause of the size or size of the abdomen.

2. flocculation disorder

This disorder, also known as flipping, forces fish to swim on the surface of the water. Affected fish swim sideways or upside down and can also be at the bottom of the pool. It is caused by constipation, poor water conditions, parasitic or bacterial infections and organ enlargement.

To control it, high quality water must be maintained, excessive reserves avoided and fish fed with the right amount of fresh and fiber-rich foods.

For treatment, bladder and bladder disorder can be stopped by increasing the temperature of the water, fasting the fish for a few days and then feeding it with cooked peas.

3. Hole in the head

Betta, which is infected with a hole in the head, has an abrasion on the head that looks like a hole or a white down.

Parasitic infections can be prevented by removing water from carbon.

Parasite Clear is an antibiotic that can cure the disease.

Infected fish usually die after a few days if they are not treated early enough.

4. Anchoring worms

It is a parasitic disease that affects the tail or fins. The affected areas appear red and swollen and have outstanding worms and mucus.

This can be avoided by treating freshly infected fish and keeping the water clean.

Some antibiotics such as methylene blue and Parasite Clear can cure the disease.

The disease can be fatal if it is not treated early enough.

5. White Spot

Ich, usually also called white spot, is a parasitic disease that causes white spots, dark circles or spots on the abdomen, fins, tail, gills and other parts of Betta's skin.

This can be avoided by periodically modifying and conditioning the water and optimizing parameters such as ammonia, pH, nitrite and dissolved solids.

The disease can be treated with zole fish, malachite green, salt baths, antibiotic or the Bettafix remedy mentioned above.

Personally I use antibiotic called Amoxicillin, actually it's an antibiotic for human and you can find it easily. Just drop a bit in your aquarium and let it for a  few days. Usually White Spot will be cured in 3-5 days.

Whatever you choose, it is very easy to cope with the disease if treatment begins early.

6. Velvet

Betta fish infected with velvet appear to have oxidized skin and a scaly head, including gills, and may have black spots on the entire skin.

Parasitic diseases can be prevented by improving water quality and without stressing living conditions. Water conditioners are among the best substances to improve living conditions.

It is highly contagious but can be completely treated by Bettafix Remedy. Manufactured by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, this medicine contains polymerization components such as sodium chloride, copper sulfate, acriflavin, formalin, sulfa 4 TMP, methylene blue and malachite green.

With all these healing components, this remedy can also be used to treat all other diseases, conditions and conditions listed in this article. I have kept Bettas for almost 15 years and have seen this drug cure my aquatic animals. I recommend that you use it to prevent, control and treat many health problems.

If velvet is not treated soon enough, infected fish will die within a few days.

7. Fish fungus

It is a fungal disease that comes from previous infections. The affected Betta generally has growths similar to cotton, white fluff, silt (mucus) or white bumps and bumps on the skin.

This can be avoided by avoiding infections and primary wounds and keeping the aquarium clean, that is, changing and conditioning the water regularly.

Antibiotics such as methylene blue and mild fungi can cure fish fungi. It can also be treated effectively with the Bettafix agent mentioned below.

The disease can be fatal if it is not treated early enough if it already spreaded through the skin

8. furunculosis

The symptoms of furunculosis include skin ulcers and open red wounds, which can also occur in the fins and tail.

Improving water quality can prevent diseases effectively.

The transparent fungus used as an antibiotic can treat this bacterial disease.

Tuberculosis can kill fish that are not treated on time. Also smaller bettas have bigger risk on this kind of diseases so you need to watch it carefully.

9. oral fungus

This is actually a bacterial disease that causes white lines or bumps around the lips and mouth of the fish.

This can be avoided by keeping the water clean, that is, changing and conditioning regularly.

Amoxicillin as an antibiotic can cure oral fungi. Other medications that cure fish fungi in general (described below) may also contribute to the infection.

Infected fish cannot survive if the disease is not treated early enough. So if you see the symptoms, you should take care your fish as early as possible.

10. Eyecloud

This disease, commonly known as corneal disease, causes white scales on the eyes.

This can be avoided by improving water quality. A water treatment is needed to make the water safer for aquatic animals.

Eyecloud can be treated with antibiotics such as Metafix and Fungus Clear.

A bacterial disease is not fatal but can affect vision which is still not good for your bettas.

11. Pop Eye

This disorder causes swelling in one or both eyes. The swelling may be a tumor or a viral infection.

Pop Eye is usually a symptom of a disease and can be prevented by preventing infections in the aquarium.

Antibiotics such as tetracycline can cure the disease.

Most fish that suffer from Pop Eye survive in the end, but if you want to heal your bettas faster, you need to give tetracyline everyday until it fully healed.

12. Dropsy

It is a deadly disease that affects the kidneys. Infected fish may have an inflated belly as a result of fluid retention.

Some other symptoms include; external scales and sunken eyes

Bacterial infection can be prevented by keeping the aquarium clean. It can also be prevented by feeding the fish with foods rich in vitamins.

There is no known cure for dropsy, but medications like Betta Revive can help.

I will be honest with you. Most fish with dropsy do not survive. To avoid this, simply clean the aquarium every week.

13. hemorrhagic

Commonly called the red mouth, bleeding causes heavy bleeding in the mouth and eyes of the fish.

The disease can be prevented by disinfecting the aquarium to kill Yersinia ruckeri, the bacteria that causes the disease.

Bleeding treatment is possible with antibiotics such as ampicillin or Amoxicillin

The infection is treatable, which means that the mortality is low but you still need to pay any attention if your fish infected with this disease.

14. Columnaris

It is a bacterial disease in which the fins break and fray. It also causes ulcers or skin lesions, white patches in the mouth, cotton growth in the mouth, dandruff and fins, and discoloration of the gills. Fish can have respiratory problems due to gill infection.

The disease can be prevented by treating open wounds and fungal infections. It can also be avoided by avoiding factors such as lack of oxygen, hardness of the water and overfilling the aquarium.

Oxytetracycline and antibiotics containing Sulfa 4 TMP, TMP Sulfa and Triple Sulfa. There are some medicines to cure your bettas from Columnaris

If the infected fish is not treated, it can die in less than 3 days.

15. fin and tail fracture

This can be caused by bacteria or fungi. The fins and the tail seem to melt because of the rot.

This can be avoided by keeping the aquarium or the living conditions of the fish.

Lobe and tail rot can be treated with drugs containing antibiotics such as trimethoprim, erythromycin and sulfadimidine.

With effective treatment, mortality can be prevented.

If you have had a fin and tail rot that affects fish, you may have tried drugs such as Tetracycline, Jungle Remover (JFE), Maracyn or Melafix. However, the truth is that these medications are not very effective at treating this infection and that some even kill their fish.

I had little success with JFE and the other drugs did not work, they even made the disease worse. In my own experience, myxazin Waterlife, produced by a reputable company, is the most effective cure for fin and tail rot.

The medication itself is a 5 days of treatment and comes with a clear instructions. The most surprising thing about this treatment is that it produces positive results from the first day! According to the manufacturer, it can also treat eye blasts, body burns, increased veins, ulcers, redness, eye drops and other health problems.

If you have a fin and tail blight or similar infections in your aquarium, I recommend you take this medicine. I use it since I discovered it in 2014 and I had no disappointment about it.

In addition, Betta fish may experience discoloration or abnormal color changes and develop bubbles and solid particles in their bodies, for example. These conditions can be controlled by periodically modifying and conditioning the water and optimizing parameters such as ammonia, pH, nitrite, nitrate, air hardness, water temperature, materials organic and dissolved solids.
